最近、韓国のドラマをたくさん見る

どんどん日本語を忘れた。。。

いいや、以上用に、あたしは間に混乱していた日本語、韓国語

インターンシップを３月に始まる

今は、お部屋を探している

もちろん、簡単じゃない。事務所を近い部屋は高価。。。

安い部屋は遠く。。。安い部屋、でも電車賃は高価。。。

全部シンガポールに高価！ああああ。。。マレーシアに生きるほしい！

ま、ちょうど３ヶ月、勉強のために、あたしはがんばります！

it's almost the end...

yes, it is!...

my long battle to finish my final year project ended last thursday (january 5th, 2011) with the submission of the project's report

all that's left is the project's presentation on january 13th

i am partially relieved and somehow sad that it was over

when i looked at my report, all the memories played all over in my head

the report has everything that i've been working on for the last 8 months...

all the struggle, the stress and pressure that came with it

and somehow, the project opened up my eyes to see beyond my naked eyes

another that is coming to an end is my final semester on campus (i hope so~)...

this semester brought me closer to a lot more people that i could ever imagine

i learned to open up my heart, my eyes and my mind to various things and people

i learned to find my smile in the oddest places

and i learned to find my laughter in my daily life

this semester brought new people into my heart

the ones that i knew i would miss...

some of them helped to heal my broken heart

some brought never-ending laughter into my life

some became my comfort zone

some just makes me smile when i look at them...

i know that i'll miss them..

as the end grew closer, the reality seems to be very vague

we have long been sheltered as students

the steps taken up the maturity ladder feel very heavy

adulthood is inevitable...

and this 'the end' is forcing us to grow up

to open our eyes and accept the responsibilities that will fall on our shoulder

a new chapter in my life will begin soon...

a day break from our hectic lives~

ひさしぶり～ been awhile since i last posted

today's post will be in english~ hehehehe...

had a day out with my girl friends~

been awhile since we had this sort of chance -- technically we don't, but we just had to squeeze it in for the sake of christmas shopping and a break from all the craziness of our final on-campus semester

which was totally worth it~ felt rejuvenated by going somewhere other than the campus

one thing that i look forward to each time chinese new year approaches
mcd's prosperity burger!
the black-peppered beef patty is my favourite
although the lack of veges in it makes me want to eat something else sometimes...
i love crunchy salad in my burger - which is why big mac is my favourite mcd burger (besides the fact that it has double beef patty~ ^^)

we shopped mostly for other people~
delicia did her christmas shopping... wey chyn and i did ours for the secret santa
so we didn't really shop for our stuff, more like buying presents for other people
haha~ which is actually kinda fun - but a headache too ^^

wey chyn wanted a tea from chatime - which resulted with all three of us getting one each
we killed some time there - delicia had her laptop with her, so she needed the rest... hehehe
and we had our first girl talk with wey chyn
i have these talks with delicia and shi hui before, but never had one with wey chyn...
but it was good - sharing our thoughts on what we both had went through
we should have more of these, it makes us feel closer... ^^

so, what did i get for myself today?
three things:
1. face shop's facial mask (mung bean's extract)

2. 2pm's Hands Up album

3. translated malay literature: the epic of hang tuah (hikayat hang tuah)

i don't know when i'll be able to read the book~ but i am determined to!
it'll be my first official malay literature (although translated) that i am going to read
i am not really a good fan of such books... but this time i am going to read it! ^^

shopping makes me smile... which is why i feel like skipping study+fyp time today was totally worth it
getting myself new things is only part of it, i think it is more of getting my mind off the things that has been bugging me...
i found smiles in a lot of places late...
a friend of mind said that i laugh easily now - was i faking it?
to be honest, nope~ it was all real! haha~
i told myself that i will not lose my smile and laughter no matter what i am going through
because these two things are the ones healing my heart
i need to be me...
my world doesn't just fall apart over what happened - it had a quake
and it's over
my smile and laughter are building up the pillars again~

i am healing~

しかしオリジナルバージョンは日本でリリースされました

でも、日本語じゃない～＾＾ヶヶヶ。。。歌は英語でです～

毎日は同じことをする。。。

晩御飯を食べる、家族とテレビを見て。。。すぐあとに、ねむ～

been a while since i last posted in english...

it's not that my japanese is that good, but hey, it's getting better! ^^

there's a photo corner in my room now...

a sort of new hobby of mine(?)... hehehe~

i realised that we don't print out pictures anymore now...

pictures are all kept in our hard disks or shared on facebook

nobody really says "print me out a copy, will you?" anymore, right?

now the saying all goes like this, "tag me on facebook, will you?"

even my dad's friends are doing so...

hurmm...

memories...

the good ones and the bad ones...

we love to remember only the good ones

and erase the bad ones...

最近、SBSのドラマ（韓国のドラマ）「武者ベク．ドン．ス」を見ていた

韓国語で、ドラマは｢ムーサベクドンス」と呼ばれて

写真から、見ることが出来る。それは時代劇です

ジョーソンのヨンジョ王様の時代に設定れた

ドラマから、韓国の歴史ついて多くを勉強した

who is that person, baek dong soo?

この質問がずっと思っていた

最初は、気にしなかった

ちょうどドラマは見ていた

でも、色々なシーンがわからない

理由は、韓国人は韓国の歴史が知ってる。ドラマは韓国のドラマ。だから、何の説明はない！

so, i googled a lot on korean history to understand what's happening... =.="

ドラマは最高よ！

友情と忠誠をついて

恋愛の事をついていない＾＾

イケメンがたくさんいた、このドラマでは。。。ヶヶヶヶ＾＾

ジチャンウクさんは本当にかっこいい！。。。彼はペクドンス。

最初は、彼は馬鹿のようだった。。。しかし後で、かっこいいの男になった

もうひとつがいる。。。ユスンホ。。。若い俳優

ユスンホさんはきれいな少年。。。まだ１８さい、若いでしょう。。。

王子様もイケメンです。。。もうひとつの若い俳優＾＾

最後のエピソードを見ていた。。。泣いていたよ。。

本当に悲しい。。。運命の事を誰も知らないですね。。。

ドラマはまだ見ていない場合、見てください

本当に最高です！

いま、嵐の櫻井翔さんと北川景子さんのドラマを見ている

日本語のドラマ、名前は「謎解きはディナーのあとで」

北川さんはドラマで、ちょうかわいいよ～～～

最近、日本語で日記を書きするが好き＾＾

あたしの日本語がまだうまくない。。。だから練習する必要がある～

今日、｢ナンドス」で昼ごはんを食べた

シフイとそのレストランへいった

四半期鶏肉とサラダとポテトフライを食べた。。。

そのレストランは普通のファミレスがみたい。。。

しかし、料理は少し高いな。。。

今、もう何も考えてない。。。

ちょうど幸せがほしい。。。

悲しい事を。。。全部を忘れた。。。覚えておくない

ちょうど嬉しいの事を覚えて。。。

why?
because he played the simply blame-on-fate 바보 (read: "babo") with killer smile yeo woon in the sbs's drama warrior baek dong soo
hahahaha~~

watching the video makes me wonder what happens if there is no hatred in this world
i wonder if it is possible for everyone to just live in peace
as someone who grew up in a blissful environment, protected and shielded from the harsh reality of the world, i can't even begin imagining what life would be if i was born in a different condition

most of us go on and on about how "our lives sucks!"
just because we failed our exams
or just because we have to wake up early in the morning to go to school
or because we're stuck in the traffic jam that goes on for hours
or because we can't afford the purse that we've been eyeing for
or how our parents nag us to do things that we are supposed to do
trust me... i sometimes do think so...

but then the harsh reality seeped in and smacked me hard on my face
i have been blessed with more than i can imagine
and it wouldn't be so bad for me to just be grateful for having them all...

i hope that it isn't too late/early to have a new year's resolution
hehe~...
"be grateful and not take little things for granted"
maybe this resolution shouldn't be just for this year... i should remember this all the time...

hehe~ that's just something from me...
not that i am trying to preach or anything... i am no saint either..
i just feel like we should remind each other of simple things that we tend to forget

前月曜日はシウイと遊びした

もちろんたくさん宿題がある。でも僕たちは遊びが本当にほしかった

だから遊びをきた～！ヶヶヶ

その後にジョギングを行った

ストレッチの後に、ラウンド２を恥じまった－ジョギング！

その日、異なるの道にジョギングした。。。新しい風をとるために＾＾

でも、新しい道はむずかしい。多くの丘があった。。。

ジョギングは無理！スタミナがない～（=.="）

本当に疲れた！！！！ヶヶヶヶ。。。

昼のジョギングは無理！朝の出来る～。。。昼は出来ない！

たぶん、たくさんジョギング行った、いつか、昼のジョギングも出来る。＾＾

happiness

a friend for almost 13 years... from 1998 till today

we were in the same class in primary school year 5 and 6

we went to the same boarding school and slept in the same dormitory for 5 years

thinking back on those days... she was one of the few persons who knows most of my secrets

and the person who probably understood every single thing that i went through in boarding school

even though we don't really see each other every single day

there are lots of things that we've shared through out these years...

and yesterday, she got engaged to be married

the smile on her face, the excitement in her eyes...

she probably couldn't believe that it was actually happening...

to be honest, i can't believe that it was happening either...

but then, she isn't the first friend to be engaged

i have friends who are married... so, it shouldn't be a surprise to me, no?

hehehe~ i guess, it just makes me feel like i have to start thinking about it (marriage) too

(^_^)

anyhow, i am really happy for her

thinking of the new journey that my bubbly friend will have to take soon

and the responsibilities that came with it...

i am happy that she's soon to wed a man who loves her, whom she can respect

love comes softly, no?

運動がする！

今日、シフイとジョギングに行きました

同じ公園へ行きました

たくさん人があった。。。ほとんどはおばあちゃんとおじいちゃんです

でも、小学生もあった～

公園の周りに２回ジョギング

最後のジョグので、しばらくしてきました

だから少し難しかった。。。けど、がんばりました！

最後まであきらめないでした！

ジョグしながら多くのことを考えた

。。。なんか。。。毎回問題がいる、日本語で日記を書きます

どうして。。。ね？

でも、ほんとうに、多くのことを考えた

色々な事を。。。

for those who know me well would know one definite thing: i hate crowded places

i would do anything to not be in a place where there are too many people

i've put off the idea of going to the circuit for a few years now

but i know that i just have to watch the malaysian grand prix live... at least once!

and so, ignoring the fact that the place would be swarmed with thousands of people, to sepang circuit we went~

well, at least we weren't like sardines over there =)

watching the race live was a total dream came true moment for me

125cc race saw the battle between nico terol and zarco as this race could crown terol as the next 125cc world champion

and it was a whole new experience for me watching our malaysian rider, mohammad zulfahmi khairuddin on the track

usually he was not seen on the tv as he was not part of the leading group nor the middle group

he was often not noticed

but he was all the we, the malaysians, were cheering for at the circuit

sure, he wasn't part of the leading group

but the fact that he finished 7th (his best finish by far) made us all proud

i can still remember the cheers that greeted him as he crossed the finishing line

like i said, it was a whole new experience for me~

moto2 race was a little disappointing... well, more like i wasn't sure who to cheer for(?)

marc marquez was not racing due to the injury he sustained for the crash in free practice last friday

as a fan of marquez, this was extremely disappointing

i was really looking forward to seeing him on the track

besides that, losing this race would mean that there is a very slim chance of him winning the championship title

stefan bradl would have to not gain any points in the last race in valencia in order for marquez to be the moto2 champion --- which is most likely not to happen

we all know that bradl is an extremely good racer

there is no way of that happening unless bradl crashes in valencia

sighhh~

nevertheless, sepang moto2 race was filled with slight drama with crashes here and there

but nothing serious...

we saw two malaysian wildcard riders in this race

they raced well considering that they were newbies in this field

and they were racing with seasoned riders

they gave hope and showed that malaysian can be a part of this motorace~

and of course, there is the motogp race...

many should know by now of what had happened yesterday (october 23rd, 2011)

the race was cancelled after just one lap into the race

marco simoncelli crashed into colin edwards and valentino rossi

it was a bad crash... a terrible crash

the motogp community had to bid a solemn farewell to a rider that is too synonymous in this racing world

last season we had to bid farewell to a japanese moto2 rider, tomizawa shoya, who crashed in san marino

and this season, a motogp rider...

we all knew that it is a dangerous sports that could result in such tragedy

but the deaths still take us by surprise

on the brighter note; i get to see rossi and pedrosa racing in front of my own eyes~

i am glad that we went to watch the race

there weren't many pictures as i was fixed in my cheering mode and it was wayyyyy too hard to catch them on camera~

i came back totally tanned! and partially deaf~

but the excitement and adrenaline still rush with every single memory that i made

now i am soooo looking forward to next year's race!

who knows how to get a job as part of the sepang motogp organizing committee?

dreams do come true!!!

we're (that is, bapak and i~) are going to watch the malaysian motogp next weekend (october 21st-23rd)!!!!

and yes~ i am totally jumping over the moon! and grinning from ear to ear~~~

those who are close to me would know how much i love motogp

and they would know how much i want to watch it live!

and so, yes! this is definitely a dream come true~

cnblue's new album!!!! 392~

it's their japanese album, there for it is not read as three-nine-two but as san-kyuu-ni

"san-kyuu" sounds like "thank you"

as for "ni" --- there are many interpretations as to what it means

"ni" can be referred to as "part 2" (ni is japanese for the number 2)

some people said that instead of reading it as san-kyuu-ni, it is read as san-kyuu-two

which will sound like "thank you too"

hurmm... i am not really sure which one it is, so suit yourself as to how you want to read it

some of the songs have already been released in their ep before the released of this studio album

there are still new songs that captivate me with just the first few bars of the song

all of the songs were either composed by yonghwa or jonghyun

cool, huh?

i supposed this is why i prefer bands as compared to dance groups

not saying that they don't write their own songs

--- big bang's g-dragon wrote most of his songs as well as big bang's too

it's just that indie bands and well, bands for that matter, write songs that express their inner side

which make the songs more meaningful in a lot of ways

somehow this album breaks away from their usual music style

it's much more deeper... and calm?

haha~ i am not sure...

i supposed it is because some of the songs tell the stories of their lives

sort of a tale of the journey to get to where they are

and some songs are like words to themselves, to remind themselves of who they were and what they have become

they sound more mature

i love this album~ really do!

just one downside with japanese-released albums: there is no photobook attached

just this booklet with lyrics and pictorial background images... nothing more

sigh~

nevertheless! it was worth every penny!!!

you can't fly no matter how hard you dream about flying~...

i was contemplating on whether or not to blog about my trip to bali

because it'll be a long post if i do...

but then again, it's been awhile since i last blogged... hehe~

bali was (and still is...) one of the places that i want to go at least once in my whole life

alongside with seoul, tokyo, santorini and maldives

so, it's like a dream came true when my parents told me that we were going to bali

even though it was more of my dad's company's trip -- i.e. his staffs were coming with us

i was more than happy to pack my bags and board the plane to denpasar

but then, i wished that my sisters and brother were coming along

it has been awhile since all of us went on a trip together

the last one being our trip to gold coast last year - even so, kak shu and her family weren't with us

plus, having my sisters around would mean it'd be a crazy 4-day trip~

and... having my brother around would mean that i wouldn't have to carry the dslr and be the trip's photographer... which would mean that there'd be more of me in the pictures too~ hehehe~

bali, in simple words, was simply cultural and unique

i've never been anywhere that is so driven and influenced by their beliefs and cultures

from their lifestyle to their buildings

every single part of them are driven by their beliefs

i supposed, in a lot of ways, this trip was more of an educational kind

i learned a lot~ (^_^)v

and i ate a lot too~...!!!!

i would really like to go to bali again

why? because there are just so much more that i want to do

things that i didn't get to do while i was there

for example... basking under the sun until i become like a burnt squid

i didn't get to enjoy bali's beach while i was there...

the brilliant me left my suit at home (yes, malaysia!)

and... i want to cycle while i am there

i saw a few tourists did this... and i so want to do this!

so... yes, maybe after i've been to all the other places, then will fit in bali in the list again~

hehehe~

my break is almost over~ but i still have tonnes of things to do

my final year project is going on pretty slow... as i am stuck in a tangled web that i don't know how to get out of...

and i have yet to confirm my placing for my internship next year

urgh... and the thought of my last semester's exam results releasing soon is freaking me out

i didn't really put any high expectations on it... in fact, i am expecting two b's

my lack of interest in the subjects is the major reason why i find it extremely difficult to comprehend the topics taught... yikes!

glasses-less~

finally... after dilly-delaying for a long time, i decided to lose my glasses and go for contact lenses

although, i am wearing my glasses while typing these words out

hehehe~

it didn't take me that long to put on the lenses

the optometrist was patient enough while teaching me (^^,)

but it took me long to take them out

my eyes kept on blinking and it seemed impossible for me to take them out

i do look different without my glasses
but i am happy to go without~
the best part of getting lenses: now i can buy new sunglasses without worrying of being blind
kekekeke~

mama and i did some shopping
though i didn't get much stuff since i went out last week and last monday too
but i did get one thing that i've been wanting
the face shop's mask sheet

why particularly the face shop's? why not etude house's or body shop's or just some off watson's shelves?
let's just say that having kim hyun joong as their model and the life size cut outs in front of their store are definitely a good way to advertise and market their products

besides, the price's about the same with all the other retailers
but i am not sure how well it works...
however, tea tree and bergamot are noted to be good for skin
so i am not worried ^^

i should really be studying now...

tonnes of stress!

that is not completely true...

i found myself adopting the if-i-don't-know,-then-i-don't-care way to get through this exam period

it's stressful because the more i study, the more i forget

so it's irritating!!!!

i did try to force myself to memorise, trust me, it doesn't work at all

i just hope that by understanding the concepts, i can answer the questions

i find that dumbo is the best companion i have while studying~ haha~

although this dumb elephant doesn't really understand that he doesn't need to know the differences between all the phylogenetics tree and the methods to build them

nor does he needs to know why data preprocessing is important in data mining

=.=" i've been spending too much time with books and lecture notes, hence this crazy-like talk~ hehehe

i've been listening to fly to the sky's brian joo's music lately

remember domino? he's the singer

like all the previous semesters, i created a new playlist for this exam period

surprisingly (not!), it's filled with korean songs... but there are arashi's in there too!!!

there are few of arashi's songs that will always make it into my "final exams" playlist

1. ファイトソング (fight song) -- it's the song that will always lift my spirit up and help me get through the nightmare-ish weeks

2. きみのためにぼくがいる

hehehe~ but i think my favourite song on the list would be 10cm's americano

there's something about the song that keeps on playing in my head~ the rhythm is just too addictive, like an americano ^^

i guess i just love (like really really really really love) indie bands
they have the charms that dance groups and boybands don't have
and playing musical instruments adds up the points~

aaa... i just want the exams to be over~

let's start this post with

selamat hari raya aidilfitri

maaf zahir dan batin

to be honest, the past two days have been tiring~~

the day before raya was filled with baking and never-ending cooking

the preparation for raya was endless

with the cakes to be baked and dishes to be cooked

we were in the kitchen for half of the day

but... it was worth it~

coconut cake and brownies baked

chocolate puddings were made

rendang, ketupat, kuah kacang and masak lodeh were cooked

hehe~ it was fun-filled, but tiring!

i think as i grow older, hari raya brought different meaning in my life

when i was a kid, hari raya used to mean lots and lots of duit raya, tonnes of food, firecrackers and crazy times with cousins

but as time goes by... i realised that it goes way beyond all of these

since i was born into a very big family, hari raya is filled with house visits and family bonding

i get to know more of my extended family members

grandaunts and granduncles, uncles and aunts, second and third cousins

and somehow rather, although we rarely meet, i don't feel distant from them

in other words, they don't feel like strangers to me

this year, like the last, our family photo is still incomplete

with ewa in the states, going to her new semester on first syawal

kak shu, abang irwan and imran in isleworth, england

ewa called early morning and we got around to talk

hehe~ feels like my younger sister is all grown

and kak shu called a little later in the afternoon

although i think i was half-awake when i was talking to her

hehe~ sorry kak shu~

well, anyhow... it's a long holidays for us malaysians... well, most of us that is~

a week off from work and school~

though it's all fun... but what comes after this week is something that i dreaded the most

oh my... has it been two weeks?

anyways, i am glad to say that i survived the last two terrifying weeks

all my assignments met their deadlines~ totally a miracle that i've been praying for~

my final year project phase 1 report has been submitted - even though there are typo-s here and there

i am left with one assignment which is due next week... yes, in the middle of the holidays

sigh~ anyhow, my part is done... just waiting to be compiled with my partner's part and we are done!

change~ yes... change

i decided to do something different this time around~

my best friend said that my hair is becoming boring and that i have the same hairstyle since ages ago

my hair was almost waist-length... and today i followed mama to trimmers (our usual hairstylists)

due to the persuasions from the hairstylist and my sudden crazy impulse

i spent the next 3 hours and a half being manhandled by the saloon helpers and hairstylist

remember the scenes from war of the worlds?

the tripods with all the tentacles... they looked something like this, no?

this is the longest i've ever spent at the saloon

now my curls are... curlier? hahahaha~

i am trying to get used to my "new" hair..

it still feels weird... hehe~

i am in the middle of a break from my struggle to finish up my assignments

the next two weeks will be literally a nightmare for me

there are many deadlines to meet in the coming weeks

and i so wish that i can turn back in time so that i repeat this whole semester again...

as many can see, i am under lots of stress at the moment

which makes me grumpy and snappy all the time

i hate being this way... constantly under bad mood is not really good for me

hence, a break is must for me! haha~

i stumbled upon a very beautiful site that made me feel... in love

yes~ literally in love~

the site is maintained by a guy who devote the site to express his love for his girlfriend (now wife)

which i find extremely heart-warming and sweet

maybe some of you may think that it sounds corny or downright cheesy

but believe me, it is none of that sort

kbs has this music program that i am so into
i usually prefer variety shows as they make me laugh and they are so much fun
music programs are just well... let's say that i just watch the performances by bands/idols/singers that i like
but kbs' immortal song 2; sing the legend got me hooked from the first episode
partly because of the original lined up casts
shinee's jonghyun, super junior's yesung, 2am's changmin, b2st's yoseob, iu and sistar's hyorin
but they had cast-change over the past episodes
so now, only hyorin and changmin of the original casts stayed
and the ones that i am looking forward to watch every week are
ft island's hongki and 2pm's junsu

why?... well, for obvious reasons
junsu is known for his vocal power in 2pm despite the fact the idol group is a dance group
and his performances never fail to impress
as for hongki... i wouldn't mind watching his performance over and over again
first of all, his band - ft island performs with him
so, i get to watch choi jonghun rocking his guitar live
and secondly, hongki's vocal power and expressive singing are not to be messed around with

maybe it's because hongki's ft island's vocalist, so he's used to sing a whole song live on stage
where else his competitors are all part of idol groups
they have members to depend on and they don't usually sing the whole song on their own
to me, hongki owns the stage each time he performs
and he manages to capture the mood and mesmerizes everyone who listens to him...

hehe~ i am so fangirling right now

time flies too fast... i wish i have more time

i have so many things to be done... more than a handful of them

sigh... well, complaining about this won't make matters any different

little things (yes... tiny... tiny... things!) that makes me smile the past week:

side-parking = success!!!

haha~ daebak!

i was rushing to class and the only parking space left was this...

i hate side-parking... but i had no choice, did i?

and believe me when i say this, everything about side parking that i learned at driving school was a complete waste!

anyhow... it was a huge success~ i left to class with a huge grin on my face

despite the fact that i have to walk quite a distance now..

it's not exactly how i imagined it to be

nevertheless, it's a good one...

it was 9 am when we arrived at 145, jalan tun abdul razak, kuala lumpur

after battling the usual kl's morning traffic -- which is something that we, the malaccans, are not accustomed to

but... well, we're not complaining

at least we're in time for my appointment

(or so we thought...)

the national heart institute is not a strange place to me

i've been coming here since i was 7 for my heart check up

but as i grew older, meeting other patients gives me different feelings each time

the waiting area at the paediatric outpatient clinic was filled with parents and patients - mostly children

why am i at the paed's clinic? hehe~

'cause i'm still a kid~ hahaha~

nahh... it's because i was diagnosed with a congenital vsd...

which means that i was born with the defect... so my case is under the paediatrics department

anyways.....

sitting in the waiting room made me recall a lot of things

as i watch other patients i thought...

'i am lucky... at least i get to be where i am now'

my heart defect is not as severe as other patients that i met this morning

i don't have to wheel an oxygen tank as i walk

my lips, tongue and the ends of my fingers are pink and not blue

i get to breathe normally

and my heart still beats on its own

i can run, play sports and do everything freely...

the thought made me feel... grateful

have i not been complaining how dire my life is

how pathetic the thought seems to be as i sat in the waiting room this morning

meeting with my paediatric cardiologist made me smile

in simply word; he rocks!

hahaha~

for the past years, i have not met other paediatric cardiologists that are as caring and concern about the patient as he is

he conversed much more with me instead of with my mum

and he asks me lots of other stuff besides how my health has been going

and he knows how to joke around...

he broke the image of paediatric cardiologist that i had for the past years~

hahaha~

today i met the people who inspired me since i was a child

from fellow patients at the paediatric clinic

to the paediatric cardiologists who are working really hard

they inspired me...

even though now that i am not in path that i once intended to pursue

they are still my inspirations

i am again burying myself in my mountains of assignments

somehow it helps me to overcome this feeling

helps me to forget and well not think about it...

even though the feelings do creep back to surprise me at odd hours...

final year project and this semester's class assignments kept me busy

to be honest, i think the lecturers sometimes forget that we have only 24 hours in a day and 7 days a week

i wish that i can lay off some of the work load for this semester

but then, if i want to graduate in time next year, i have to push myself through this...

the progress of my final year project somehow comes to a sudden halt

why? more like i am torn as to what i want to do first

there are parts of the reports that i have yet to edit

then there's the neural network that i am supposed to look into

i still need to figure out the functions in matlab

there are too many things to do...

my parents started talking about my post-graduation plans

we've discussed them before...

i told them that i want to further my studies...

and so it begins; the talk about sponsors and where i am planning to study

that i should be more proactive and start looking for places

well, maybe to some it feels like it's too early to begin

it's never such with my parents

well... it's not the fact that they are talking about it already that is freaking me out

it's the sudden realization that hits me

that i am an adult... and soon, i have to make decisions that is going to determine where i am going to be in life

and i thought that being 23 is still young...

have i been idle for the past years?

even though i've been planning to further my studies... i have yet to look into places and sponsors..

and i supposed i don't really have any aspirations anymore

but at some point in my life, i have to stop daydreaming... and start planning my future again, no?

is it the fear of disappointment that prevents me from being aspired?

on another note...

a visit to my aunt's scare the hell out of me...

there were talks about groom prospects

there's a guy that my aunt know (a son to someone she knows)

and she's trying to match him with one of her nieces

since he's younger than my eldest cousin who isn't married yet

my aunt turned to my elder sister - well, my sister told mama that she has somebody in mind, and refuse to be match-made

so out of the blue, my name came up...

she started calculating the age difference and how old he would be if he is to wait for me until my graduation

one word that came out of my mouth: no!

23 years old... and the talk about weddings and marriages scares me

i know that someday this talk will come up

what was i thinking...

there are lots of my friends who are already married at this age

but i don't think that i am ready yet

and i do want to be madly in love to be married

so as of now, let's put the marriage talk on hold, yea?...

i have to grow up, don't i?

i can't be a kid forever no?...

sometimes i tend to forget the little things in my life and take them for granted

i get so focused on one thing that i ignore the rest

i buried myself in my busyness and all the school work

with thoughts that it will help me to forget this emptiness in my heart

i was so focus in filling up that hole... without realising that it is not empty in the first place

the small tiny bits in life can bring a smile to our faces

they said that it's not because we are happy that we are smiling, but it's because we're smiling that we're happy

though it didn't make sense to me at first

but maybe it's true... even if you force yourself to smile you can be happy...

hold on... it still doesn't make sense to me...

maybe we should stop worrying and sweating over tiny things

and start learning to make lemonades when life gives us lemons

though i still find it hard to do...

but i am going to do it

smile and laugh when i am happy

cry and wallow when i am sad

and... will try to squeeze all the juice out of the lemon and enjoy my lemonade

when i am being extremely productive!

woke up early to wash the car

to be honest, it's has been awhile since the car was last washed

and so, whether i like it or not, it has to be washed today!

cleaned my room...

dust vacuumed, windows wiped...

and sheets have been changed

i told you i've been productive~

i still have to study weka - a software used in my data mining class

and i haven't got around to start on the 'introduction' part of my fyp report

i've been wanting to eat it since my birthday

but i ended up going thai for my birthday lunch

and we went for nasi ayam penyet when bapak treated me dinner

and well, there wasn't any chance after that to dine out

there wasn't any till today...

it has been awhile...

went out with delicia to get some stuff... i.e. shopping!

we had to do it before our schedules get busier...

since our final year projects have started, we barely have the time to do other things

but today, we just have to... releasing our stress and spent some money~

i bought a new handbag that i've been wanting...

i know that i just bought myself a new one last month

but i really wanted this one... and i think i deserve to treat myself to something

i've been making do with just lip balm day in and out

i am still pretty much under a lot of stress...

i first heard the song on the drama i am legend
but it was completely differently than this version (it was a rock version on the drama)
i love jonghyun's version ^^

jonghyun mentioned on immortal song 2 that the song is originally a russian folk song (but he rearranged the song and gave it an irish feel)
so it made me curious... and as a result; yes, google!
haha~ so then i found out it was actually a latvian tune remade into a russian song
and then a korean singer remade it into a korean song...
urgh... kinda long history...
whatever it is, basically it was a latvian song then a russian song and now a korean song...

i supposed it's going to be hard to find the original version of this song... no?

exam results were released today

ft island and cnblue are definitely on my playlist...
and now trax, flumpool, b'z, bump of the chicken too...
am i going through some sort of a phase?
and oh... i just found this singer, kang seung yoon
he sang a song for midas ost
but it's not the song in midas that attracted me
it's his rendition of yoon jong shin's instinctively
i love the song itself... and it's pretty hard to find someone who can sing it perfectly
he sang the song amazingly... probably one of the best rendition of the song available

but the whole reason why i watch this drama is because of park min young - the actress who played the role of kim yoon shik (kim yoon hee) in sungkyunkwan scandal
mbc's miss ripley is a must watch for all park yoochun's fans!
haha~ he's really good... and it's great to see him on tv again
the image from sungkyunkwan scandal lee sun joon is gone... yoochun is much more warmer in this drama~
hehe~^^
and i am looking for new japanese dramas...
i am re-watching maou - cause i miss ohno... m(_ _)m
is it possible to keep up with all these when the semester starts?...

i feel like i've been going out the whole week...

monday spent with mama and bapak - a-day-early birthday lunch at lerk thai, aeon melaka and surveying the cellphones' prices as bapak wishes to get a new phone

we're thinking of samsung galaxy tab...

tuesday - birthday celebration with friends and bapak's employees

wednesday was spent with mama and bapak - watched pirates of the caribbean: on stranger tides

thursday... ah~ the only day i didn't go out, spent the day dwelling in mountains of articles and journals

and today, friday, went to the it fair at hatten square with mama,

which was actually a complete waste of time

i was hoping to get a new external hdd and bapak asked us to get two new monitors for his office

we ended up getting them from the usual supplier in bukit beruang.. =.="

yes~ a new external hdd!

500gb and it's red! yes! red! hahaha~

was tempted to get the 1tb~ but it was about rm300++

*cringe* can't afford it with my current financial status~

honestly, heading to town wasn't a complete waste of time... hehe~

mama bought me my birthday presents today~

and i have much to be thankful for
somehow rather... this year's birthday is different from the ones before
it's not surroundings or the celebrations...
more of the feelings that i have now...
is that what people call "growing up"?

i used to think that birthdays meant presents and cakes and balloons
and of course, birthday cards...
but somehow this year, my perceptions towards birthdays are different

today is a day that i am feeling most grateful
hey... i even found various ways to say thank you to the birthday wishes on facebook

there are lots to be grateful for...
i've lived 23 years... and i don't think that i have ever been more grateful than i am now...

when i think about what i am most grateful for in life
the first that i thought of would be my parents

but they are the ones who got me where i am today

they are there for me

ermm... i feel like i have to apologise for the past few posts...

due to my emotional rollercoaster ride the posts have made me sound.... well, kinda pathetic

but yes, we had our rifts and ruts, bumps and black holes here and there, don't we?

and mine were mixed with the emotional puddles and extreme raging flames

i am turning 23 this year
and i start to wonder about silly simple things
and somehow i wish that i have answers to them
but... apparently, the answers kept on changing and it's getting rather confusing and frustrating

what's the difference between like and love?
can you love someone and not like them? or is it given that when you love someone you also like them..?
and when a relationship takes a turn and two people head separate ways, will their feelings ever change?
whether it's hate or love... will the feeling change?
is it possible to hate and love the same person at the same time?

sometimes, i tried to just ignore the feeling
i used to think that i am strong and that i can bear it
but at times, i do wish that someone can say those words back to me
i am strong
i can do this

i hate feeling like i am always defined by you

i hate to be the only one who still has her whole heart in this

i used to think that i don't want to be without you

end of gamma year

i am no longer a gamma student at mmu~

end of second year... and i am going to be in my delta year soon...

i am leaving behind all the scars and wounds

all the pain and tears i had for the past year

and walk on forward with a huge grin along with all the sweet memories i've shared

i supposed you can say that i am willing to grow up now...

and be accounted and responsible for my actions

gamma year has been wonderful and hectic to me

with the badminton club activities, the never-ending projects and assignments

it's easier to say that the year has been just plain hectic

but then again... it is the year that i've created more memories

made more friends (and perhaps enemies)

and became closer to a lot more people rather than sticking to the same crowd

so... the year was tough... but it brought out the best in me

i have a lot of people in my life to be thankful to

and i supposed you guys know who you are...

i have this habit...

[i think delicia knows this best since she sits next to me almost every class]

even though my english isn't 100% grammatically correct

i can't stand listening to anyone, who pretends that his/her english is perfect and speaks with completely shattered english, without correcting them under my breath

yes, under my breath... i don't say it straight to their faces...

i know, it's a bad habit... or is it?

it's not like i am making fun of them, i am merely correcting them...

last night, my parents took kak shu, my bro-in-law and nephew to the melaka river side

and i tagged along~ hehe~

it was all fun, but i am not going to blog about it...

what i am going to talk about is this sign:

my dad noticed this signboard by the riverside

i am not going to point out the mistake in this sign...

read it yourself and if you can't figure out what's wrong with the sign, then well... let's just say that you're in the same boat with the melaka city council~

sorry~ didn't mean to be mean...

anyways, doesn't the city council have someone to proofread the sign before it is put up?

what's worse is that this sign is in a tourist spot... every single tourist will read this sign...

and i can imagine what they are thinking

because i had the same thought when i first saw the sign...

have you ever come across these chain emails that people kept on forwarding about weird english signboards that non-native english speakers all over kept on doing?

the ones that have misspellings or just the wrong nouns all over...

anyways, those i can still find amusing and pardon them

as they are local public people, most without proper english education

and have no one to proofread their signs for them...

but the sign above was put up by the city council

isn't that a little... embarrassing?

i am not being arrogant

it's just that i find it hard to understand why it is so hard for some people to ask for help when it comes to languages

language is not something that you can learn on your own

it is something that requires communication with other people

and in the case of the city council, they should have someone to proofread the signboard - not just this one, any signboards that they want to put up...

it's not that hard... is it?

if i never did, now let me tell you...

i love birthdays!!! yes~ even if it's not mine ^^

i love everything about birthdays...

from picking out the presents for the birthday girl/boy

to the planning of the birthday surprise

i love the look on their faces when they rip out the wrapping paper and when they actually see what was wrapped underneath

it really brings me joy~

birthdays are the time you spent with your love ones...

whether it is your birthday or any of your love ones....

i find it kinda sad if i get to know anyone who spend their birthdays alone...

you can either be with your family... or your friends... or your boyfriend/girlfriend

birthdays are not meant to be celebrated alone...

to me, birthdays are filled not only with cakes and presents

it meant much more...

you get to know your blessings and see the people that matter so much to you

cakes and presents are just the topping...

the people that surround you with love are... well, the cake

yes~ i did get a hair cut... ^^

but i still have my long hair~ hahaha~

i had it trimmed and layered and well, getting the cheek-length fringe

the last time i had my hair cut was october last year

that's like... about 5 months ago

my hair was almost down to my waist... note the word almost

it is still... just about an inch shorter than before

i want to keep it long... although the thought of how much care it needs...

yes! the hair needs pampering...

i don't have time lately... which explains the dry hair and split ends

so... now split ends no more~ (yay!!!)

i am rambling... am i not?

i was reading a book while waiting for my mum to finish up at the hair dresser
and came across this line in the book

it was quoted in the book i am currently reading
and it struck me hard...
making me think of the value of authenticity
and my fear of being... well, powerless
though many who know me well said that i do speak my mind to them
i realise that i don't do the same to strangers nor someone who is just an acquaintance
i find it hard to say anything for the fear of offending the other person or being make fun of
and most of the time, i prefer to be invisible in a crowd of people that i don't know
it makes me feel... safer?
i don't know...

reading the book recommended by pak lang (my uncle) made me think about a lot of things
everything in my life...
the values that my parents have been teaching me all these years
and all the hopes and dreams that they have placed on me
and then i started asking myself...
have i been doing what i have been doing all these years just to live up to all the hopes and dreams that my parents have for me?
was everything for them?
have i ever done anything for myself?
.....
and then an answer just ping into my head
yes...
i have all these expectations for myself
academically and well... in the other stuff too...
i realise that my expectations lie on the results of whatever it is i am doing
exams, quizzes, projects, assignments, reports, event handling... everything
and the satisfaction comes when all my expectations have been fulfilled

have i been wrong all these years by raising the bar high up my head and hope that i will be able to reach it someday?

i am turning 23 this year
am i on the right path?
is this the path that i want to take?
or is this the path that everyone expects me to take?

argh~ reading self-help books make me think a lot
like super a lot!

there are lots of things in this world that i don't understand

and they make my mind wonder... all the time...

someone told me that sometimes there's just no answer to my questions

and that i just have to accept things the way they are...

is that even acceptable to me? honestly...? nope~ not at all...

for instance, why (as in with a big question mark at the end) is it so hard for waiters to smile when they are taking orders?

are they forced to take the orders?

okay... maybe smiling is just a little too hard

why not try talking with manners?

make your customers feel a little bit welcomed

you are paid to be a waiter... are you not?

another thing that i don't understand... or maybe just that i don't want to

why can't some people throw their rubbish into the bins?

don't tell me that there isn't one in the whole wide world -- that's a freaking lie

if you are in the car, you can hold on to it (i.e. the rubbish) and throw it when you find a bin

but... no... some people just had to roll down their windows and chuck it out on the road

civilized people? my foot!

and you keep teaching your kids "jangan buang sampah merata-rata"

it has been... almost... two weeks? hehe~

i missed blogging, but i just have not the time the time for it

so, here i am, stealing some time to update this lonely blog of mine...

(i bet some of you miss my posts too, no? -- what? why am i being soooo lame~ =.=")

i want to dish all the details of my trip... even though it hasn't end yet

but i am not going to~

why? because there are just too many and too much to tell...

haha~

it's sort of my last day here in london

will be flying back to malaysia late tomorrow afternoon

and it made me walk down the memory lane, when i just arrived in london~

every single part of this trip meant so much to me

and i wish it doesn't have to end...

every single minute of the trip etched into the gyri of my brain...

sitting on a straight flight to stansted for 14 hours (i slept most of the time...)

watching the sun rise on one side of the horizon and the darkest sky on the other

walking up and down the stairs of the tube stations while battling with severe case of jet-lag

enjoying a cone of soft ice cream with aufa on tower hills

freezing me butt's off while walking along the queen's walk

walking in the drizzle in westminster and jubilee park

learning the history while venturing through the halls of london museum

sitting on the stairs in front of the national gallery while watching other people on the trafalgar square

standing at the intersection in picadilly circus

watching the magic shows and sharing a jacket potato with aufa in covent garden

enjoying chinese food in the eccentric but awesome camden town

feeding the swans and lazing about as the sun sets in hyde park

witnessing the changing-of-guards procession in front of the buckingham palace

spending a day in cadbury heaven - cadbury world in birmingham

walking in light showers in the streets of stratford-upon-avon

shivering in the cold while in bourton-on-the-water

being swept by the cold winds of burford

making a trip to oxford... christ church college -- (the filming set of harry potter's first two film)

contemplating over a freaking 89 pounds worth of radley's handbag in bicester village

carrying my nephew while my sister shops for groceries

chasing after imran in the grocery store

i made it! (finally....!!!!)

i wish for it not to end... the trip i mean

but, it's time to return back to reality, eh?

i don't think that i will be able to keep my last semester's result...

i think i did badly in the last exam

last stages of packing...

there are few more things left to fit into my luggage before tomorrow...

it finally feels... real~

hahaha...

yeay! i can fit into the bag!

i decided to leave behind my beanie neck pillow and bring the air-blown one instead (saving space~)

therefore dumbo gets to go to london with me~

hahaha~

i find myself packing too many things... some i might not even need

why? because of the thought "what if i need it later?"

and clothes... although i know that i can do my laundry over there (it's my sister's house after all), there are just part of me that is saying... "what happens if i run out of clothes to wear?"

i wish the answer to that question would be simply "buy new ones...~"

haha~ that would mean that i would be saving lots and lots of space...

but even a shopaholic like i am, knows that it's not a good bargain to shop in london

during times like this that i wish that i am not going alone...

three in one day?

those who know me well would know that i love cultured milks (i.e. vitagen) and yogurt drink

and that i drink one everyday - in the morning especially

why? because it helps with my digestion

haha~... yes! it's true...

i am not a person who likes to eat fibre-rich food (because i just don't like the word 'fibre')

so i have to find something to help with my digestion

it's either fibre supplements (meaning pills... like any other food supplement) or... something like cultured milks and yogurt drinks

today i drank three vitagens and a glass of yogurt drink

why?... because i bought a whole lot of them without thinking that i am leaving next week

and there is no one else in this house who drinks them

and these drinks don't last long...

they'll be spoiled by the time i come back from london...

i want to update today but i didn't know what to talk about...

so... there you go; my rambling about my out-of-routine thing...

all my bags are pack...

technically... nope~ they are not all packed...

let's just say... halfway through?

dumbo says "i want to go too!!! fit me inside the bag!!!"

i am used to packing my bags back when i was studying in moscow

summer holidays were only two months...

packing and unpacking my bags are not that strange to me anymore

and there was always this feeling -- sadness mixed with excitement

sad to leave a lot of people behind, excited to meet a lot of other people

it was the same - either leaving malaysia or leaving moscow behind

the last time i traveled on a plane alone was the most miserable 14 hours of my life

i was leaving moscow for the last time...

saying goodbye to the small family in moscow wasn't that easy

especially when they have been by my side for more than three years

i remembered how hard it was, holding back my tears and curling my lips into a smile

so that the goodbye wouldn't feel so bad...

but the crazy surge of feelings came when i sat in the cab alone

the russian driver tried talking to me, but i kept quiet and stared out of the window

thinking that it would be the last time... the last time i'd ever see russia

it snowed on the day i left... my last snow...

and now... i am travelling alone again...

the excitement to meet my sister, brother in law, nephew~ and my best friend since birth - my cousin

i am counting days! yes~ i am!

digging out my winter clothes, crazily searching for my scarves and snow cap made me more excited!

i can't wait for the day to come...
